As the writer of the Bible book of Ecclesiastes says, "There's nothing new under the sun." Although mankind is made in God's image, therefore creative (ALL of us are), we cannot create from nothing. We can't pull ideas out of a vacuum. We have to feed our creative genes. One way to do that is look and listen to other creative types. Let me show you one of the sources I use to feed my "creative beast" within. Even if you don't have particular interest (as I do) in creative video and graphic design, your creative muse can be fed by it. In fact, it is important to realize that one thing that feeds creativity is to appreciate it in totally unrelated fields to your specific interests. Take a look. Enjoy. How To Kill Kreativity
One of the characteristics of children is their playful approach to life. When we begin to "mature" into adulthood, the playful gene begins to atrophe. We start getting "serious" about life. We consider the art of playing as a waste of time. The reality is that being creative necessitates playing, experimenting, having fun, dabbling, letting your imagination go wild...and not cosider it a waste of time. Playing is actually "serious business."
In fact, I just started another blog which has the whole purpose of allowing me to play...wander...wonder without the pressure of having to be profound. Just play with random thoughts. If you want to check it out, here is the address:

Getting It Inside Out
We want more energy in our lives. More joy. More peace. More of (fill in your blank). Every man, woman, boy, and girl has creative genious. It just comes with the package. Mankind was created in the image of God. God is a creator. So, we have it in our "genes." It will display itself differently with each individual. It all depends upon your gifts, talents, and desires. Some will display thier creativity through the Arts. Others through forms of business prowess. Still others in construction, or mechanics. It depends upon who you are.
Creativity will improve our parenting, our husband or wife skills, or relationships in general. There is a "sleeping giant" in many of us. His/her name is Creator. (Small "c"). When I say that I don't mean we each have our own creative genius apart from the Big "C"...God.
Creativity is often the solution "hidden in plain sight" to living the rat race same-o same-o rut of a mediocre existence. But, this is a new day for you. And, you don't have to travel over here or over there to get it. And, you don't have to spend your hard earned mu-lah to discover it. It's resident with you. All you need to do is acknowledge you want a better experience called, "Life." Then discover the "getting it inside out."
Let me sum it up today in this simple thought. The magic master key is found in beginning to write (or type on your computer). WAIT! No Worries, Mate! You don't have to be an accomplished writer. You don't have to have good grammar or spelling. You don't have to get all philosophical and create gems of wisdom. You just write. Perhaps start with a sentence (broken and incomplete) a day.
Just write. Believe it or not...this is the beginning of unearthing your creative genius....for any area of life. That's why I'm going to spend some time with this specific focus in the days ahead.
Let me give you a simple fun exercise. It's a game. It's fun. And it helps get the ball rolling. Write as many sentences as you can that say yes without writing the word yes.

The 2010 Project
You can learn (and learn pretty well) a new subject, talent, skill, or whatever if you devote three months to focusing on it. You will learn it very well if you give it a year. Therefore, I am beginning a new journey for myself and those who choose to take this pilgrimage with me. A creative voyage that will help us discover creativity as a wonderful tool to enhance every aspect of our lives and mission in life.
That is a challenging prospect for many creative types....and btw, everyone is creative (if you're made in God's image). If you evolved from a monkey....well then, you may be short a creative gene or two. Anywho...if you tend toward the creative in your personality, you'll feel a little bit A.D.D, or maybe a whole lot "distractable." Shoot...I have 15 projects running through my mind, or on my computer all at the same time. So, the idea of focusing on one thing for a year is a little intimidating. On the other hand, I have the whole field of creative thought and process to roll my creative body around in. So, I'm thinking, "Naw...I can do this."
So, I have two purposes for "TCL" blog. First, it's a discipline for me...or at least an attempt to focus on one area long enough to really learn it. I believe that "excellence" brings and gives the most pleasure and joy to others and to myself. Second, I also believe that it will be a help to you, the reader, and "tryer-outer," so that you, too, can discover the joy of living a life to it's fullest.
Last thought for this post. I am an Organic Jesus Follower. What does that mean? It means that I am also learning to live a practical rather than "religious" life with my beliefs. Although I will not be writing this blog as a series of "religious" articles, the reader will occasionally read references to my belief system. It would have to be that way. After all, I am learning to be fully alive and fully devoted to the life my Creator intended as I embrace the fact that He is organically at my core and I am attached - in the deepest part of my being - to the Source of Life as my life.
I hope you join me for this new year's pilgrimage in the practical discovery of "The Creative Life."
